"The Cure" by, um, The Cure
Somehow I had no idea this album was coming until the day before the US release date. My first impression is very favorable - although the songs in the middle kind of blended together, "The Promise" is absolutely awesome. Both "Lost" and "The Promise" impressed me at Coachella two months ago, but at the time I had no idea what they were. I like "The Promise" at least as much now as I did then.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see an album I ordered from Amazon UK on Monday night arrive on Friday. I ordered the UK version because the US version inexplicably omits two songs (and at least one of them seems pretty good). I'm now thinking I'll probably go to both the SF and Sacramento shows in August, if they ever start actually selling the tickets.
